We announced in August that The Events Hub is part of the SmallBiz100 for 2022. The Small Business Saturday campaign is one close to our heart, as it champions organisations like ours – something hugely important for our local and national economies. Below is our press release, which tells you all about it.
West Lothian event management organisation named as one of Britain’s most inspiring firms
The Events Hub in Livingston has been selected as one of the nation’s 100 most inspiring small firms by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign, as it marks its ten-year anniversary.
The Events Hub, an exciting Scottish organisation delivering fully accessible, futureproof, engaging experiences to transform their own businesses and relationships further, was founded by Ruby Sweeney in 2011. It has been chosen to be part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line- up, which showcases impressive, independent businesses from across the nation.
Now in its tenth year in the UK Small Business Saturday will return on 3 December 2022, with a mission to support and celebrate the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses, particularly as they face mounting economic challenges over the winter.
Ruby said: “Making it onto this list is a huge honour. I’ve worked hard to get to this point in my career – as a business owner, woman, parent, and person of colour – and I’m over the moon to recognise how far I’ve come since starting the company in 2011. I strive to support small businesses wherever possible, so this recognition isn’t just for me, but for others in the small business community too.”
The Events Hub will be profiled by the campaign on Sunday 23rd October as part of the 100-day countdown to Small Business Saturday UK.
“It’s fantastic to celebrate small firms just like The Events Hub as part of our 10-year anniversary of the campaign,” said Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK.
“Over the past decade we have been able to spotlight dynamic businesses from across the nation, who remind us of the incredible tenacity and determination of small firms in this country. It’s brilliant to have The Events Hub in this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.”
A grassroots, not-for-profit campaign, Small Business Saturday first came to the UK in 2013 has grown into an iconic campaign celebrating small business success and encouraging consumers to ‘shop local’ and support businesses in their communities.
